Grew up playing tennis in Romania and first picked up a racket at age seven. Proudest coaching moment was when one of her players became Romanian junior ranked number one. Especially enjoys coaching children and young people because of their never-ending energy, good vibes and willingness to learn. Loves working at the park because players can enjoy a healthy environment, surrounded by nature. Valentina’s career goal is to coach a champion of the future!

Started playing tennis from the age of 5, joined a local club taking part in regular lessons for many years, growing a passion for the sport. Leading tosupporting the mens 2nd and 1st team since the age of 14, at which I was also unbeaten under 18 singles champion for 5 consecutive years. At age 15 I decided I wanted to coach tennis, leading me to starting my coaching qualification path. And ever since have been determined to use my skills to help players improve their game and reach their desired level.

Jacob began his coaching journey with TwistFizz as a Young Leader before progressing through our coach development pathway to become an LTA Level 2 Coach. Based primarily at Eltham Park South, he has built an excellent rapport with our junior players, creating a fun, inclusive and supportive environment that helps young people develop both their tennis skills and confidence.
Alongside coaching, he is currently completing his final year of secondary school and is a fantastic example of the opportunities available to young people through community tennis. He continues to develop his own game through regular training sessions and remains an active competitor, bringing current playing experience and enthusiasm to every session he delivers.

Nicoleta combines her passion for tennis with a wealth of experience in education, specialising in primary students. After progressing from a teaching assistant to achieveing her HILTA qualification she has honed her skills to inspire young minds on the tennis court. Her dedication to tennis is fueled by watching her own daughter thrive through all the LTA Youth stages. Committed to building a career around tennis, she focuses on nurturing each child’s learning and development making every session engaging and rewarding.

Sarah’s love for tennis began seven years ago at TwistFizz, spurred on by her son’s enthusiasm for the game. It wasn’t long before she picked up a racket herself, quickly discovering her natural talent and passion for the sport. Today, Sarah is not only a qualified LTA coach, but also a beacon of inspiration for our youngest players.
As our Volunteer of the Year 2025, Sarah devotes her time to nurturing talent from the very start, focusing on the Blue Stage (6U) players. With her expert guidance, she lays the essential foundations that allow young players to thrive and progress through all stages of our junior programme.
During the week, Sarah is a dedicated professional, and come the weekend, she transitions seamlessly into her role as a devoted volunteer coach. Her infectious enthusiasm and unwavering commitment create an encouraging and playful environment for our young players, ensuring they enjoy every moment on the court while developing their skills.

Originally from Italy, Gabriele brings a unique blend of athletic experience and a love for the game. While he spent many years playing football during his formative years, his deep-rooted passion for tennis was nurtured by his father, a national tennis supervisor and the president of a tennis club in Italy.
A qualified Level 2 Fitness Instructor, he emphasises the importance of fitness in the development of tennis skills. His admiration for the sport spans generations, with inspiration drawn from iconic players like Ivan Lendl, Pete Sampras, and most recently, Roger Federer.
He thrives in outdoor park environments, promoting an inclusive atmosphere where players of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the game. His coaching philosophy focuses on cultivating a love for tennis while developing strong foundational skills in his students.

Luke is a passionate and energetic coach who specialises in introducing young players to tennis and helping them build strong foundations in the Blue and Red stages of our junior programme. Known for his patience, enthusiasm and ability to make learning fun, he creates engaging sessions that help children develop confidence, coordination and a love of the game.
Alongside his tennis coaching role, he also works as a football coach with Charlton Athletic Community Trust, bringing a broad range of experience in youth sport and player development. His ability to connect with young people across different sports makes him a fantastic role model and mentor for our younger players.

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of TwistFizz, tirelessly investing time and skill into helping people of all ages live more active and healthier lives and creating facilities, programmes and service that are second to none!
Volunteers take on a variety of roles from on-court leaders, grounds maintenance to arranging social events. We wouldn’t be an organisation delivering on behalf of our communities without our volunteers.

Our team of young leaders have all completed their Tennis Leaders course and support our coaches in delivering the Junior Youth programme.

The protection of young people and adults is paramount at TwistFizz. That’s why we have a dedicated safeguarding and welfare officer.
The safety and wellbeing of every child, young person and adult is at the heart of TwistFizz. As our dedicated Volunteer Welfare Officer, Anita provides a trusted point of contact for safeguarding concerns and helps us maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment across our programmes. Her experience as a childminder and as a governor at a local primary school gives her a strong understanding of children’s welfare, safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of listening carefully and responding with sensitivity.

Every Sunday between April and December we run a free family tennis session right after the completion of the Junior Park Run. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an interest in tennis to run the morning session (9:30 – 10:30). You don’t need to be a great tennis player to run the session, and with a group of volunteers and a well organised rota you won’t be needed every week!
